The KARIBU-KILIFAIR 2026 Summit Challenge

We are looking for the fastest woman and the fastest man in Tanzania (16 years up), to run our small semi-Kilimanjaro Hill @ KARIBU-KILIFAIR 2026. The running time reaches between approximately 10 to 30 seconds and is happening from START around the hill, up to Summit sign, down the hill and return to the FINISH point.

Everyone (all Nations) in good physical condition and 16 years or above can participate for FREE. Runners under 18 need to bring a signed consent sheet (download here) from their parents. Other need to sign the consent sheet for themselves.

1st price men / women =

TSH 1,000,000 plus 1 Free Kilimanjaro climb

2nd price men/ Woman =

TSH 500,000

3rd price men/woman =

TSH 300,000

All runners must register on-site (first come – first served) and receive their running number. Challenge times are limited in time (one-hour laps) and different on each Expo Day (see published chart).

Please bring your sports shoes, sun protection and water to avoid dehydration.

Friday:

12:00-13:00 / 14:00-15:00 / 16:00-17:00

Saturday:

10:00-11:00 / 12:00-13:00 / 14:00-15:00 / 16:00-17:30

Sunday:

10:00-11:00 / 12:00-13:00 / 14:00-16:00

Prizes & Trophies given away on Sunday 16:30 at main stage. Runners can monitor the leading runners frequently at internet & social media.

Time breaks are used for selfies on the Summit sign & running track

KKF 2016 Summit Run Challenge – Participation & Safety Rules

  1. Participation Requirements
  • Participation is open to women and men aged 16 years and older.
  • Participants under 18 must have consent from a parent or guardian.
  • Every participant joins at their own risk.
  • Participants should only compete if they are physically fit and healthy.
  • Anyone feeling sick, injured, dizzy, or unwell should not participate.
  1. Registration Rules
  • All runners must register & sign on-site before participating.
  • Each participant receives a race number or identification.
  • One run per participant unless organizers announce otherwise.
  • False names or duplicate registrations are not allowed and lead to disqualification.
  1. Race Format
  • The challenge consists of running:
    • from the start point,
    • around the hill,
    • and up the hill on the marked turning point,
    • and back down the hill to the finish line.
  • The fastest official time wins in each category.
  • Separate ranking categories, 1st, second and 3rd place:
    • Fastest Woman
    • Fastest Man
  • Organizers’ timing decision is final.
  1. Mandatory Safety Rules
  • Participants must wear proper sports shoes.
  • Participants must warm up their self before running.
  • Running barefoot, in sandals, or unsafe footwear is prohibited.
  • No pushing, blocking, or dangerous behavior.
  • Runners must stay inside the marked course.
  • If a participant falls or becomes injured, nearby runners or security personnel should help immediately. A First Aid hospital is on-site.
  • Event official staff may stop any participant considered unsafe to continue.
  1. Course Safety
  • The hill and running path were checked before the event, but Holes / slippery areas / lose rocks or unsafe obstacles may occur.
  • Runners may expect holes, slippery areas or lose rocks. Be careful!
  1. Weather & Environmental Conditions
  • Organizers may delay or cancel the event in case:
    • heavy rain,
    • lightning,
    • extreme heat,
    • or unsafe ground conditions
  1. Medical & Emergency
  • A basic first aid kit & First Aid Hospital are stand by on-site.
  • Emergency vehicles stand by

  • Organizers may refuse participation for safety reasons.
  • Organizers may adjust rules, schedule, or course layout if needed for safety or fairness.
  1. Liability & Claims
  • All participants take part entirely at their own risk.
  • By registering and participating, each runner confirms that they understand the physical nature of the event and accept full responsibility for their own health and safety.
  • Participants agree not to hold the organizers, sponsors, volunteers, venue owners, or event staff liable for any injury, accident, loss, or damage that may occur before, during, or after the event.
  • Every participant must sign the participation and liability waiver before competing.
  • Participants under 18 years of age must have the waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
